Hopkins – Sliding Graphic Door

PROJECT TYPE:  Doors
DIMENSIONS:  96″ Length x 96″‘ Width x 2.5″ Depth
MATERIALS:  Polished acrylic – handle, Powder coated aluminum – frame, Printed vinyl – panels
YEAR PRODUCED:  2017

Joe Munson designed and fabricated a giant custom door with vinyl graphs that is comprised of two separate panels that are joined onsite to allow it to be brought in to the space. The large door created space efficiencies while adding a distinctive artistic element to a downtown loft. The 8-foot-square doors are fabricated with a core of welded aluminum tubing and PVC sheeting to reduce weight. The doors glide smoothly and silently to separate guest and master bathrooms with polished triangular acrylic handles. The digital artwork by artist Daniel Bartle features  an image of pre-1920s map that incorporates graffiti-style art for the master bath door. One neat feature is that the graphic is identical on the reverse side so it shows in the bathroom too!

UNIQUE FEATURES: Three-piece interlocking construction allows easy shipping and assembly. Durable vinyl graphics yield a surprisingly beautiful finish. Polished triangular acrylic handles give the user full control of the sliding action

My wife and I have been working with Joe Munson Studio since 2006 and have done approximately one project per year with Joe since then.  Three of the projects have been featured in the Kansas City Star and our condo was the feature home in KC Magazine’s August 2011 issue.  Joe is a highly detailed and capable individual that is extremely passionate about the design and quality of the pieces he produces.  In addition Joe’s projects have consistently come in on budget.  Overall working with Joe has been enjoyable and we look forward to collaborating on projects in the future.  Joe Munson Studio comes with my highest recommendation.
